Is the Glasgow Orange Walk for God or King Billy?

The Glasgow Orange Walk, organized by the Ladies Orange Association of Scotland, involves 500 participants marching through the city center on Sunday, April 27, 2025, starting at 1:45 PM BST from Holland Street and ending at Glasgow Cathedral.

What Is the Orange Walk?

It commemorates King William of Orange’s 1690 Battle of the Boyne victory, a Protestant milestone. Still, it includes religious elements like hymns or preaching, potentially tied to groups like the Free Presbyterian Church.

Some call it Christian. But it can divide people. In Scotland, as I grew up in Perth, we had marches around the Letham area, and tensions rose. Does it show Jesus’ love? Or is it history?

My Message to the Walkers

Dear marchers, I see your passion for faith. I’m a born-again Christian, and I love you. Let’s read the Bible. John 13:35 says, “Love one another.” You march for King Billy. But Philippians 2:9 lifts Jesus above all names. I’ve seen lives change through God’s Word at bornagainchristians.org. Share Jesus, not just history. If this march divides, choose unity. Romans 10:9 says, “Believe in Jesus, and be saved.” Some know Him. Grow in His Word. If you don’t, come to Jesus today. I’m praying for you.

My Heart’s Burden

I want faith focused on Jesus. The Orange Walk has Christian parts, like hymns. But it’s mainly about King Billy. I choose a Bible believing Church, where Scripture leads. God’s Word, not history, guides me. Let’s live for Christ, not past battles.

To conclude

The Orange Walk lifts King Billy, not Jesus. Seek churches that teach the Bible. Test every event with God’s Word. Pray with me for Christ’s love to shine.
